Q Boyer got his start in the online adult entertainment industry serving as one of several people behind the cantankerous online personality Cap’n Smut, the cartoon CEO of SmutLinks.com, one of the web’s earliest adult review and link sites. Over the years, Q has done a bit of everything, from affiliate program operation, running free adult sites, writing for and editing adult industry trade journals, public relations, customer service, risk management, market/data analysis, erotic fiction writing and content sales.
A graduate of the University of Arizona, Q’s academic background is as schizophrenic as his adult industry resume, and includes lengthy stints studying astronomy, anthropology, psychology and literature — the latter being the discipline in which Q (eventually) earned his degree. Following his extended collegiate experience, Q spent several years working in the production department of a software development firm prior to taking the plunge into the then-fledgling adult internet industry.
These days, Q lives in a decommissioned Titan II missile silo in the desert outside Tucson, AZ with his wife Emily, their dog, three cats and innumerable reptilian sentinels which guard the entrance to the property, 24/7.
