REVIEW:
The first thing that impressed me about the Getaway Luxe Designer Vibrator was the truly elegant and tasteful packaging and very well made satin lined gift box. Although “you can’t judge a book by its cover”, this was more akin to opening a finely packaged piece of jewelry than most other items I’ve reviewed and hinted at the sheer quality of this pleasure product.
My next wildly positive observation was that the ergonomics of the device, and silky smooth silicone body just felt so good to the touch. It’s got enough weight to it to help get the job done, but not so heavy as to cause hand fatigue as many upscale modern pleasure products of this size do.
The Getaway also introduces a unique touch control. The “itouch slider” is a new, quicker and easier way to control the vibrator. Rather than pushing buttons, all that is required with the Getaway Luxe is to simply hold or move the finger up and down a sensor button and bar to make it go faster or slower. Very much like controlling a smart phone with the touch and slide of a finger. Very clever.
There are three patterns to choose from: constant, waves and pulsation. I was able to easily alternate between all three by holding my finger over the Nomi Tang logo for about two seconds.
The speed of vibration was controlled by moving my finger gently over the itouch bar. Sliding from the bottom to top slows the vibration down. Sliding from top to bottom accelerates the vibration. However you like it, I found the Getaway very intense.
Another nice feature of the controls is once the desired setting is found, I simply put my finger on the bottom of the itouch bar for about two seconds which made the Nomi Tang logo button glow red and the device was now locked at that setting. To unlock, it was simply a matter of repeating the action.
Now that I had mastered the itouch controls, it was time to test drive the Getaway for its intended purpose – insertion and other erogenous stimulation! Having 6 inches of insertable length, a bulbous head measuring 1.5 inches at its widest point and the strong motor positioned in the tip, it certainly has the ability to find all of the internal hot spots. It worked very well for both G-Spot stimulation, as well as clitoral.
The Getaway is 100% waterproof, lending itself as a bathtub toy, plus making it very easy to clean after use.
As for noise, the Getaway is NOT particularly discreet at its highest speeds and produces a loud, rattling buzz. Although I was able to dampen the volume by holding my hand around the base above the handle, this product is probably not my first choice for use when discretion is essential! It does quiet down significantly at lower speeds.
Conclusions:
Aside from it being a bit loud when turned on it’s highest and fastest settings, and being yet another device I need to keep reloading with batteries, my experience with the Getaway Luxe was excellent! From the well-done visual appeal and ergonomics, to the very clever itouch control system, to the ample horsepower of the motors to get the job done, the Luxe has become one of my favorite insertion toys since I received it for review. Being a “luxury” pleasure product, it does come with a “luxury” price tag. As they say, “nice things cost money” and the Getaway Luxe, in my opinion, is worth every penny of its retail price of around $85.00.
